Lianyungang Port 300,000-ton Crude Oil Terminal Undertaken by CIMC Engineering Technology via EPC Mode Officially Put into Operation

On May 27, 2026, the 300,000-ton ultra-large crude oil tanker Xinjiyuan safely berthed at Berth 173 of Xuwei Port Area, Lianyungang Port and commenced crude oil unloading operations. This marks the official commissioning and operation of the 300,000-ton crude oil terminal project in Xuwei Port Area, Lianyungang Port, which is delivered by an EPC consortium formed by CIMC Engineering Technology and CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Institute Co., Ltd.
As a key infrastructure project, the terminal improves the energy storage and transportation capacity of Lianyungang Port and boosts the development of port-side petrochemical industries. The berth stretches 412 meters in total length, with a designed annual crude oil throughput of 18.5 million tons. Supporting facilities include the main terminal structure, loading & unloading equipment, large-diameter process pipelines, as well as complete intelligent, safety and environmental protection systems. At present, all equipment and systems operate stably with seamless process coordination, and all performance indicators meet design standards, enabling smooth official commissioning.
As the EPC contractor for the project, CIMC Engineering Technology took full-process charge of the design, procurement and construction of the oil process section. During construction, the project encountered multiple technical and management challenges, including heavy-lift equipment installation, overhead laying of large-diameter pipelines, and cross-discipline coordination among multiple participating parties. Leveraging its mature EPC project management expertise, the team refined construction plans, conducted special technical demonstrations, and rigorously enforced full-cycle quality control, work safety and green construction standards. All construction bottlenecks were resolved, ensuring high-quality one-time successful commissioning of the project.
The official launch of this terminal stands as CIMC Engineering Technology’s benchmark EPC project featuring large-diameter pipelines. Having passed full-scale field validation, the project fully demonstrates the company’s core technologies and comprehensive strengths in EPC general contracting for large crude oil terminals, construction under complex working conditions and end-to-end project management.
