On January 6, CIMC EnTech’s subsidiary, CIMC EnTech Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “CIMC Engineering & Technology”), successfully held the “Biomass Green Energy Technology Exchange Conference” in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province. The conference was themed “Building a New Green Ecosystem Together” and focused on cutting-edge technologies in biomass green energy, particularly the full-industry-chain development of green methanol. Mu Yang, Secretary-General of the Energy & Chemical Industry Branch of the China Association for Industrial Energy Conservation and Clean Production, was specially invited to serve as the moderator. The conference attracted more than 200 participants from over 80 companies spanning energy production, chemical manufacturing, engineering design, equipment technology, and other sectors. Yang Xiaohu, Executive Director and President of CIMC EnTech Holdings Limited, Ju Xiaofeng, Vice President, and Zheng Zhijun, General Manager of CIMC Engineering & Technology, along with other senior leaders, attended the conference and joined guests in discussing the innovative applications and future prospects of green methanol in the energy transition.
On the day of the conference, Mr. Zheng Zhijun, General Manager of CIMC Engineering & Technology, expressed sincere gratitude in his opening remarks to the customers who have long supported and trusted the company’s development. He stated that, backed by more than four decades of deep expertise in process design and engineering innovation, CIMC Engineering & Technology has consistently upheld the corporate spirit of “self-reliance and relentless pursuit of excellence,” continuously deepening its engagement in sectors such as petrochemicals, cryogenic storage and transportation, and clean energy. In December 2025, CIMC Engineering & Technology completed the construction and delivery of the CIMC Green Energy Zhanjiang Biomass Methanol Integrated Project. Also in the same year, the Anji Lingyuan Project successfully achieved clean conversion of industrial tail gases, fully transforming 100% of coke oven gas into usable raw materials—a pioneering demonstration project in China that marks the first time coke oven gas has been fully utilized on a large scale. Furthermore, CIMC Engineering & Technology has undertaken a series of major industrial energy projects for companies including Angang Steel and Shui Steel, accumulating extensive experience in project delivery. This has enabled the company to make a comprehensive leap—from being solely focused on design to providing integrated, end-to-end engineering services—and today, it has become a key supplier in China’s core processes and critical equipment fields for clean energy.
At the meeting, Yang Yueping, Deputy General Manager of CIMC EnTech Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., highlighted the “CIMC Green Energy Low-Carbon Technology (Zhanjiang) Co., Ltd. 50,000-ton/year Biomass Liquid Fuel Project,” which was independently designed and wholly contracted by the engineering company. The project has been successfully put into operation and is now running smoothly and steadily. It is one of the earliest large-scale projects in China to achieve a closed-loop, end-to-end chain—from “biomass waste” to “green methanol” and then to “marine fuel.” This successful practice vividly demonstrates CIMC EnTech’s independent innovation capabilities and integrated solution strength in the fields of core clean energy processes, key equipment, and system integration.
During the special technical sharing session, the conference invited Dr. Zhu Zhiping, Researcher at the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Mr. Zhao Dequan, Chief Scientist at the Technology Innovation Sharing Center of CIMC Enric Holdings; Mr. He Maojun, Deputy General Manager of the Technology Innovation Sharing Center of CIMC Enric Holdings; Mr. Li Dong, General Manager of CIMC Green Energy & Low-Carbon Technology Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Ren Jian, Chief Engineer of the same company, to deliver in-depth presentations and engage in lively exchanges on topics including biomass thermal conversion fuels and carbon emission technologies and system integration, key solutions for green liquid fuel production and carbon dioxide capture technologies, building end-to-end digital best practices for green energy using scenario-based intelligence as a means, challenges and opportunities in the development of the green methanol industry, and discussions on sustainability certification standards for green methanol. The content covered multiple dimensions, such as technology R&D, project implementation, standard certification, and digital empowerment. These in-depth technical exchanges not only deepened all participants’ understanding of the entire green methanol industrial chain but also provided valuable insights and references for technological cooperation and innovative applications within the industry.
In addition, experts from research institutions such as the Guangdong Energy Group Research Institute of Science and Technology, the Guangzhou Institute of Metrology and Testing Technology, China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., and the Beihang Shangao Integrated Energy Research Center also attended the event.
In his concluding remarks, Yang Xiaohu, Executive Director and President of CIMC Enric Holdings Ltd., stated that addressing climate change and promoting the green transition have become a global consensus and the core of China’s “dual-carbon” strategy. CIMC Enric remains firmly committed to becoming a key player and solution provider in the global energy transition, taking “making energy cleaner and the environment better” as our company’s responsibility and vision. “The successful commissioning of the bio-methanol project and the coking-oven off-gas integrated project demonstrates that the company has fulfilled its commitments to customers and the green, low-carbon industry on schedule by 2025. In addition to ensuring smooth commissioning and stable operation of these projects, CIMC Enric is also actively and comprehensively promoting our key equipment, turnkey core processes, and digital integrated solutions, thereby empowering the entire industry to achieve a green energy transition and upgrade,” said Yang Xiaohu.
