To thoroughly implement the green energy transition development strategy, enhance the professional competence of employees across all departments in the field of green energy chemicals, and promote the internal application of biomass-to-green-methanol technology within the company, on February 6, the Marketing Management Center, in collaboration with the New Energy Engineering Division, successfully held an internal special training seminar on “Green Methanol Process Technology” in Conference Room 3606 of the company.
To deeply implement the green energy transition development strategy, enhance the professional competence of employees across all departments in the field of green energy chemicals, and promote the internal application of biomass-to-green-methanol technology within the company, on February 6, the Marketing Management Center, in collaboration with the New Energy Engineering Division, successfully held an internal special training seminar on “Green Methanol Process Technology” in Conference Room 3606. This training session received an enthusiastic response from designers across all divisions of the Design Management Center; the entire Process Department and Pipeline Department participated fully in the learning. Other departments—including the Engineering Division, Project Management Department, Finance Department, Procurement Department, and Enterprise Management Department—also took part throughout the event and engaged in thorough study and discussion centered around knowledge related to the Green Methanol project.
Focusing on the cutting edge with solid content: deep integration of theory and practice.
This training is closely centered on the core process technologies of green methanol and covers three major core modules:
Various process routes for producing green methanol from biomass, along with their techno-economic characteristics and regional adaptation logic: This paper systematically introduces the major process routes—including the biomass gasification coupled with biomass power generation for producing green methanol (green LNG), the wind-solar-electrolysis hydrogen production coupled with CO2 conversion to green methanol, and the biomass-plus-wind-solar-electricity resource integration route—covering their overall process flows, techno-economic evaluations, and applicable scopes.
In-depth Analysis of Biomass Gasification for Methanol Production (Zhanjiang Model): This article provides a detailed introduction to the process principles, technical approach, and techno-economic advantages of the "circulating fluidized-bed atmospheric gasification" technology employed in CIMC Green Energy’s 50,000-ton-per-year biomass liquid fuel project in Zhanjiang.
Key Challenges and Difficulties in Preparing Technical Proposals: Based on practical experience, this document analyzes the key considerations involved in preparing technical proposals for green biomass-to-methanol projects. These include optimizing the general site layout, designing biomass collection and storage facilities, planning power generation facilities and plant-wide equipment configurations, optimizing the design of utility systems, and developing strategies for handling startup and shutdown conditions. It also clarifies the requirements for collecting other relevant data during the feasibility study phase, such as establishing a biomass parameter system and gathering data on wind, solar, and photovoltaic resources.
Expert-led, lively exchanges: Internal wisdom sparks vibrant discussions.
The training invited Yang Yueping, Deputy General Manager of the company, and Ye Xiushi, Assistant to the General Manager of the New Energy Engineering Division, to serve as keynote speakers. As deep participants in CIMC Green Energy’s 50,000-ton-per-year biomass liquid fuel project in Zhanjiang, they leveraged their solid theoretical foundation and extensive practical experience to provide a clear and insightful explanation of green methanol technology. The training not only featured detailed theoretical explanations but also incorporated case studies, data analysis, and interactive Q&A sessions. The participating employees listened attentively and actively asked questions, creating a vibrant and engaging learning atmosphere on-site.
Significant achievements, promising future: Empowering teams and strategic development
This training session was designed to establish a platform for knowledge sharing and in-depth learning, helping the team align on a common technical understanding and laying a solid foundation for the company’s future development of green biomass-based methanol projects and technological reserves. The training lecture was a complete success and received unanimous praise from all participating employees. Participants generally commented that the training content closely addressed industry hot topics and technical challenges, combining high-level insights with practical relevance. It significantly enhanced their systematic understanding of green methanol process technologies, broadened their technical horizons, and sparked innovative thinking.
This training is a concrete manifestation of the company’s forward-looking strategy to develop green and low-carbon technologies and actively cultivate its internal core competitiveness. Through this training, not only has the technical team achieved a unified understanding of green methanol technology, but it has also laid a solid knowledge foundation for the subsequent market expansion, engineering design, and EPC project execution of green methanol initiatives. By empowering employees’ growth and pooling the collective wisdom of the team, CET will remain steadfastly committed to the path of green energy development and forge a new chapter in the company’s growth!
