The propane and butane projects in the low-temperature storage tank area of Lianyungang Rongtai Chemical Storage Co., Ltd. have been successfully delivered

 The "Lianyungang Rongtai Chemical Storage Co., Ltd. Commercial Tank Farm Project (Phase II) Low Temperature Propane/Butane Tank Farm Project" is a turnkey project constructed by Nanjing Yangtze Petrochemical Design Engineering Co., Ltd. through EPC general contracting, and the work content has been extended from engineering EPC to trial production operation for the first time.

   The project includes two 80000 square meter bimetallic fully enclosed low-temperature storage tanks, one for storing low-temperature propane and the other with the option to store low-temperature propane or low-temperature butane. Since its construction, the project has encountered many difficulties, such as the COVID-19, poor geological conditions at the site, and rare continuous rainy weather, which directly affected the construction progress. But in order not to affect the overall progress of the project, the project team gathered together, cooperated carefully, allocated resources reasonably, worked day and night, and overcame difficulties. Through a deep cross cutting approach of design, procurement, and construction, they ensured that the project was completed and put into operation with quality, time, and safety. This won the praise of the owner and supervisor, and was awarded the "2019 Excellent Construction Unit for Safety Production Work" medal by the National East Central Western Region Cooperation Demonstration Zone Safety Production Committee.

   In the final stage of preparation for the trial run, YPDI dispatched the company's design and technical backbone to form a project start-up team. Under the leadership of project manager Xia Yinqiu and start-up manager Chen Xiaodong, the team was fully committed and orderly promoted the work. On January 12, 2021 at 17:58, the trial production of low-temperature propane officially began. During the process, the driving team insisted on 24-hour monitoring and fully utilized the technical expertise of professional personnel to continuously adjust operating parameters through calculations, ensuring smooth and controllable operation. In order to ensure a smooth driving process, nearly 100 tank trucks were used to provide materials for the trial production operation. The project team arranged the tank trucks reasonably, greatly reducing the loss of driving materials and saving considerable trial production material costs. The entire driving team is not afraid of hardships, dares to take on challenges, and has received full recognition from top low-temperature production experts in China, proving the level of trial production work of the YPDI driving team and laying a solid foundation for accumulating experience in trial production work for future projects.

On January 25, 2021 at 23:40, with the liquid level of the low-temperature butane storage tank meeting the requirements of the contract and all indicators meeting the requirements of the contract with high quality, the trial production work that took about half a month was successfully completed in one go with the hard work of the entire project team. The project was handed over on January 26, 2021.

This project is the first EPC general contracting project constructed by YPDI within the Lianyungang Petrochemical Base, and also the largest single capacity steel low-temperature storage tank EPC project independently designed by the company in its history. The successful completion of the project fully demonstrates YPDI's technical strength in the field of low-temperature storage tanks, and provides support for the company's development and growth!
