After the successful lifting of the first 80000 cubic meter steel low-temperature storage tank in the low-temperature propane and low-temperature butane EPC project of Lianyungang Rongtai Chemical Storage Co., Ltd.'s commercial storage tank area project (Phase II), which was constructed by YPDI, on March 16, 2020. On April 17, 2020, with the joint efforts of various functional departments of YPDI and the Lianyungang project management team, and the cooperation of various construction units, the second 80000 cubic meter steel low-temperature storage tank was successfully lifted. This marks another crucial milestone in the construction of the project, providing important assurance for the final completion of the project.
The low-temperature propane and butane project in Lianyungang Rongtai Commercial Storage Tank Area is located in the petrochemical base of Xuwei New District, Lianyungang, and is invested and constructed by Shenghong Group. The project will build the second phase commercial storage tank area of Lianyungang Rongtai Chemical Storage Co., Ltd. YPDI will be the general contractor for the construction of two 80000 cubic meter steel low-temperature storage tank main bodies, as well as the production and installation of low-temperature storage tank process engineering, public engineering, loading platform and other tank supporting systems. This project is YPDI's first EPC general contracting project constructed within the Lianyungang Petrochemical Base, and also the largest single capacity steel low-temperature storage tank EPC project undertaken by the company in its history.
Assistant General Manager Ye Lin led the company's business and technical management team to arrive at the project site in advance, coordinated the on-site management team of the Lianyungang project, comprehensively sorted out the work from technical solutions, document materials, HSE control measures, air lift equipment, tools, and manpower arrangements, and put forward specific requirements in a targeted manner, ensuring the smooth progress of the lifting work from both technical and management aspects. At the same time, Mr. Ye Lin, on behalf of YPDI's management team, expressed gratitude to the project management team and distributed condolence items to every employee on site. Through friendly interaction and full communication, everyone truly felt the company's affirmation and care for everyone's adherence to the project site.
When the COVID-19 in Lianyungang, where the project is located, is under strict control, the YPDI Lianyungang project management team keeps close contact with the owner, supervisor and construction unit. Upon obtaining the entry permit through the owner's application to the local government, the company immediately organized the on-site management team of the Lianyungang project and the management personnel of the construction unit to enter the petrochemical base in Xuwei New District for early isolation. According to the local government's permit, the construction personnel were organized to enter the designated isolation point at the project construction site for full isolation. After the isolation is completed, personnel who can enter the construction site shall disinfect the entire area and establish various control measures to ensure that construction personnel entering the site can carry out various construction categories in a safe manner.
On the morning of April 17, 2020, at 8:00 am, the dome of the second 80000 cubic meter low-temperature storage tank (propane, butane) slowly rose with the sound of "ventilation" from the blower. After more than 2 hours of continuous blowing and pressure supplementation, it successfully rose to over 30 meters. The edge plate of the dome is tightly pressed under the pressure ring at the top of the outer tank. The total weight of the dome of the propane and butane storage tanks that were lifted this time is also over 600 tons. With the efforts of more than 40 riveting and welding workers, the welding work of nearly 200 meters of weld bead was completed in only about 5 hours.
The successful lifting of the second 80000 cubic meter low-temperature storage tank (propane, butane) for the Lianyungang project does not mean that the remaining work of the project construction can be carried out smoothly. The situation facing the company and all colleagues, especially the on-site management team of the Lianyungang project, is still very severe. The commuting control of personnel and vehicles at the project construction site will continue to be extremely strict in the near future and even for a considerable period of time. Entering the transitional season of spring and summer, unexpected weather changes often occur, and the extraordinary supervision and management of construction and environment by property owners and government departments, as well as possible public emergencies, can bring uncertain impacts to later project construction. But YPDI will continue to face difficulties with high enthusiasm and devote itself to various construction management work on site, providing support for the specific construction process with profound professional technical knowledge, using scientific management methods to plan and coordinate various construction units to promote close cooperation, reasonably allocate construction resources, complete various construction work of the project within a limited period, and have the completion key handed over to the owner as soon as possible, making the most outstanding contribution to the company, the project, and the individual!
